The Beginning

Welcome to Just Another Travel Blog! I decided to start this blog as a tool for others, and as a type of travel journal for me to look back on. There, sums it up in one sentence. Just a little bit about me (which you can also read on the sidebar), I am a (greater) Seattle (area) native with a passion for travel! Realistically I actually grew up an hour north of Seattle, but no one knows where that is so I just pretend I'm from the city. I graduated from Colorado State University in 2016 with a degree in Agricultural Business that I don't use whatsoever, and currently work for a major airline. I'm based out of Seattle and plan on using my travel benefits quite a bit to explore the world (more about those in a later post). Other fun things I've done include: living and working for a dude ranch for a summer in Colorado, working for Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida (see sidebar for a link to my Disney College Program blog!), and studying abroad in New Zealand (also see sidebar for that blog). And if you see my name and are trying to mentally pronounce it correctly...it's Mar-in, not mare-in. Just a side clarification hahaha. Just a few more personal facts about me...I LOVE photography. You'll find photos throughout my blog, all either taken by me or by someone else OF me using my camera. My favorite subjects to photograph are animals, particularly horses! I also enjoy shooting candids of people and the occasional landscape. For fun I do a lot of hiking, mostly around Washington State, but stay tuned for a Banff, Canada blog! I also love to eat and enjoy trying out new restaurants and styles of cooking. I read a LOT and also enjoy watching movies, my favorite genres being action comedy and animated (mostly Disney;)). I'm obsessed with fall scented candles and my Chaco sandals and hate chocolate chip cookies. So now that you know some incredibly random facts about me and my blog...read on for my travels!! At this point in my life I'm only beginning my travel journeys, so I will continue to add as I go more places. In the coming couple of years where I travel will be decided based on where my airlines flies, because that's by far the cheapest option for me (just another poor college graduate). So I'll begin with a couple places I've already been, then start filling this blog up as I go more places!
